What is Strontium fluoride?

Properties: White powder, relative density 4.24, m.p.1473°C, b.p. 2489°C,stable in air, soluble in hot hydrochloric acid, insoluble in hydrofluoric acid, ethanol or propanone. It decomposes in strong acid.
Application: It is used in medicine, daily chemicals, electronic and optic industries, such as monocrystal for laser.
Storage: Store at a dry place with seal hermetically.

It is almost insoluble in water (its Ksp value is approximately 4.33x10-9 at 25 degrees Celsius. It irritates eyes and skin, and is harmful when inhaled or ingested.Similar to CaF2 and BaF2, SrF2 displays superionic conductivity at elevated temperatures.Strontium fluoride is transparent to light in the wavelengths from vacuum ultraviolet (150 nm) to infrared
